Ski 2017 in the pipeline!!!

We are planning a 2017 ski trip to Saalbach in Austria.

If anyone is interested then see Mr Phillips in room 2310 or Mr Mould in room 2309 for a letter.

Day two in the sun, a lovely morning spent skiing followed by an impressive ice sculpture competition, won by the boys with their very impressive " snow Louis" sculpture. The girls took runners up spot with an ice tea pot. Tonight we are going bowling in Saalbach so the competition is on. Don't forget to check out The Spires College Twitter account for photos.

Day one over and all is well

After a beautiful ski day in the sun the group enjoyed a bum boarding session on the slopes followed by a glo stick Easter egg hunt where everybody got there chocolate treat. Tomorrow the groups who have all done brilliantly, head for the bigger slopes before strutting their stuff at Bobby's bar in a game of Austrian skittles. Winner of the hat today was Alex Ibell for managing to wallop another student with a chair!!!! Runner up was Katie Leszman for knocking the poor rep off his feet while skiing.

SKI 2016...COMING SOON

Hello all, while one adventure closes another beckons. We will be announcing the destination of the 2016 ski trip this week. Don't forget to see Mr Phillips or Mr Mould if you are interested. More news as its made :-)

Farewell St Anton

Well what a week! we saw it all, snow, wind, giant snowmen, group singing in a restaurant in the style of the Von Trapp family( if they had sung wonderwall).

The children were brilliant and got to see more snow than they will probably ever see again. Ice cream evening was a hit as was bowling night and the hat found a new home with Alex Richards who deserved it for his human snowman act alone. The girls win the award for messiest room of the week...I thought we had been burgled at one point!...boys win the award for stinkiest room. Mr Mould wins the award for most snowballed teacher and Mr Phillips takes the medal for worst fashion statement for combining green rugby socks with blue thermal trousers. We hope that everyone had a great time and if anyone has any feedback then please let me know, we are always looking to make the trip the best it can be.

We are already choosing a resort for next year so if you want to be part of the process then come and see us. Rumour has it that we might be off to Italy next year. We are going to take 30-40 students on our own coach which we will use to take us to and from the slopes ..or with luck we will get a doorstep resort where the slopes are right next to the hotel.

Greetings from St Anton

After a long coach journey we arrived in time for a ski fit and some hot food. Most people were a bit tired so an early night was had...after a few games of pool. Sunday was a good day up the mountain withe instructors being very impressed with how quickly everyone was learning. Alex Richards won the hat on day one for forming a close bond with a snow drift. We all had lunch at the gondola station and a big well done to Sam who managed the five more mouthfuls I made him eat.

Day two...rainy in the valley but snowing up the mountain...which led to a big snowball fight (that I didn't start...honest). We had a good ski for three hours in the morning but conditions weren't great so we stopped a little early. Tonight we are going bowling after dinner and tomorrow we are on the mountain for 9 o'clock. Special mention to Evelyn who hurt her knee but was very brave...nothing broken except her street cred when the man at the first aid post made her wear blue crocs when she took her ski boots off. I will let you know later how the bowling went and who did the daftest thing of the day and ends up wearing a giant chicken hat. If Alex gives it back that is...I think he's getting quite attached to it.

Departure day Friday 27th March

Hello all, the time is nearly upon us. We will meet on Friday at 12 o,clock outside the main entrance to school. If the weather isn't good then we will all meet in room 0613.

We will return on Friday 3rd April at around 8:30pm but will phone to confirm this when we are on the way back

Don't forget I will collect 5 Euros from everyone as a deposit for the ski pass, which you will get back at the end of the week.

My contact number for the week will be 07716 295 219.

Right, I'm off to start packing, see you all on Friday

Exciting news! The ski company have offered us an upgrade. We are now going to the world famous resort of St Anton. We have an upgraded hotel...complete with sauna. An uprated resort that is higher and snow sure all year round. This is a great result and details of the new hotel and resort are currently being uploaded. A new information sheet will be sent out before we leave,

Trip Launch March 2015!

Hi everyone and welcome to the live trip blog. Now I know that twelve months before we go is very early to start blogging but...time soon goes. The whole idea is that while we are away this will be the page where we share some of the fun with those at home. I will try to keep everyone updated with what we get up to on the Snow and during our evenings. If I get to work out all the technical bits then I will also use this page to share photos and videos...once all the relevant permissions have been sought of course!.

Please remember that if you want to know anything  then you can contact me through the website and during the trip and just before there will be a direct phone line. In the mean time please feel free to check out the website and let me know if you can think of any improvements etc that you would like to see. Don't forget too sign the guest book and see Mr Phillips or Mr Mould if you would like to come on the trip.

Bye for now,
